Book Cover WIP5

Nearly done. Just the floor to do and I'll darken the background and add some stone work for the back walls. Finish up the broken chain, table and glass bottles being flown everywhere!

Glory Character Sketch

This is a character who becomes Keith's (Wisdom, main character) sweetheart later on in the novel. Her name is Glory. The feather she holds was given to her by Keith while he was in slavery. As a reminder of her fondness for him, she keeps it around at all times, even going as far to attach it to her necklace. But slavery and wealthy folk don't mix, and anything having to do with feathers is a sure sign that you might be a slave.

Different Hurt Update

Different Kind of Hurt

Again, sorry for the upload. Used the phone.

I've actually had this image brewing in my mind for quite some time. I wanted to show the relationship between Wisdom and his youngest son, Koreken. Having the ability to ease pain by combining pressure points and positive energy, Koreken is seen holding his hand over his father's heart in this piece. However, at this point in his life, Wisdom has already experimented much pain, the type that is more mental than physical. Thus the title, "different kind of hurt" cannot be cured by a mere touch.

Did this piece while on vacation. With no scanner around, I only had my phone to take the picture. So sorry for the poor quality of the piece. I'll re-upload once I get to a good scanner.

Book Cover Shaded WIP

Book Cover WIP

I had meant to paint a new book cover sooner, but now or never, here it is as a work in progress. Original book cover can be found here:

I decided since the old one was painted with the mouse, and I bought the tablet afterward, that it needed some cleaning. I wasn't happy with the flames in the old piece. So I'm adding more dynamic action to the piece, shade with pencil, then scan and paint it using Photoshop CS3. The old one was done in Photoshop 7. Nice upgrade since my computer died.

To give a bit of summary, this is the antagonist of my book, Jenario Onyx. He stupidly thought he could become a great magic-user by swiping the horn of a unicorn, ends up transforming it into a blood-sucker, possesses himself, and it all goes downhill from least for Jenario. Should have stuck to turning stone into gold. Probably would have been safer.
